The baby is expected to be 6 months old to start complementary foods. He/she must be able to sit upright in a high chair, even with support.
STARTER FOODS:
1. Vegetables: Zucchini, carrots, potatoes, broccoli 2. Fruits: Apple, pear, banana, avocado 3. Cereals: Semolina, rice flour, oats 4. Proteins: Minced meat, chicken, lentils, yoghurt
BLW (Baby Led Feeding): - Baby learns to eat on his own - Eats with family dinner - Finger foods are started - Explores by touching and smelling
CLASSICAL METHOD: - Foods in puree consistency - Spoon feeding - Gradually the texture is increased
IMPORTANT NOTES: - Each new food should be given 3 days apart. - Allergy symptoms should be monitored - Salt and sugar should not be added - Honey should not be given before 1 year of age.
