Urinary tract infection manifests itself with fever, pain during urination, and frequent urination.

SYMPTOMS: - Fever (prominent symptom) - Pain/burning when urinating - Frequent urination - Abdominal pain - Vomiting - Loss of appetite - restlessness - In babies: Diarrhea, jaundice

REASONS: - Bacteria (E. coli most common) - More common in girls - Toilet habit - Drinking insufficient water - Constipation

DIAGNOSIS: - Urinalysis - Urine culture - Ultrasound (in recurring cases)

TREATMENT: - Antibiotic (10-14 days) - Drink plenty of water - Diuretic (barberry tea)

PREVENTION: ✅ Drink plenty of water ✅ Regular toilet ✅ Wiping from front to back (girls) ✅ Cotton underwear ✅ Frequent diaper change

RECURRENT UTI: - Urology evaluation - Kidney ultrasound - Bladder film (VCUG)
